Editorial Policy

The standards we follow so that what you read on QuietCompound is accurate, independent and honest.

Trust is the only thing an educational site really sells. This page explains how we choose topics, check facts, handle conflicts of interest, and fix mistakes.

1. Independence

QuietCompound is editorially independent. We are not owned by a broker, bank, fund or product company, and no advertiser shapes our topic choices or conclusions. Advertising, where present, is clearly separated from editorial content and never influences what we write.

2. What we write about

We cover beginner-level personal finance, investing and retirement. We choose topics that answer real questions people ask when they are starting out. We do not publish:

  • Market-timing or price predictions.
  • Schemes that promise unusually fast results, or anything suggesting a specific return.
  • Personalised buy/sell recommendations for individual products.
  • Content tailored to, or targeting users in, any specific country's regulated market.

3. Accuracy and sources

We base explanations on primary and reputable sources — regulators, government agencies and established references. Where a number matters (for example, an account limit or a tax rule), we describe it as illustrative and point readers to the official source to confirm the current figure, because limits and rules change over time.

Our ruleIf we cannot verify a claim from a credible source, we do not publish it as fact.

4. Expertise and review

Articles are written or reviewed by people with relevant background: investing content by a CFA charterholder, planning content by a personal-finance educator. At least one editorial pass happens before publication, focused on clarity, correctness and tone.

5. Corrections

We make mistakes, and when we do we fix them. Substantive corrections are updated in the article, and where it matters we add a short note about what changed and when. If you spot an error, let us know through the support link on our Contact & Support page — you can leave a correction note right there.

6. Conflicts of interest

If a writer or the site has a financial interest in something mentioned in an article, we say so. In practice, our reviews compare common account types and tools on stated criteria; we do not accept payment to recommend a specific product, and we do not host sponsored posts presented as editorial.

7. Reader safety

We actively warn readers about scams and unrealistic promises. Anywhere a beginner could be misled, we add a clear, calm warning and point to official consumer-protection resources.

8. No personal advice

Everything on QuietCompound is general education. It is not personalised investment, tax or legal advice, and it is not an offer or solicitation to buy or sell any financial product. Decisions should be made with a qualified professional who knows your situation and jurisdiction.

9. How to flag a problem
